Shop Technician
We have an exciting opportunity for a Shop Technician at our Reading Tractor and Equipment location in Reading, PA. This position is primarily responsible for a variety of job duties including setting up equipment, readying equipment rentals and performing mechanical repairs on small engine, diesel engine, tractor, and compact construction equipment. A qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent as well as one plus years of parts, automotive, construction or agriculture experience.
Essential Job Functions:
Diagnose and repair customer machines.
Provide routine preventative maintenance.
Set up and accessorize new equipment as needed.
Responsible for checking in and out rental equipment with external customers.
All other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Must be over the age of 18
High school diploma or equivalent
One year of parts, automotive, construction or agriculture experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Must be able to follow directions both written and verbally
Mechanical/automotive/construction/agriculture experience
Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills
Good attention to detail
Previous understanding of lawn mowing equipment and compact construction equipment.
Good organization, time management
Problem solving skills
Ability to meet deadlines
General computer knowledge
Working Conditions
Physical requirements necessary sitting most of time as well as walking
Must be able to lift or exert force of up to 50 pounds with occasional need to lift or exert up to and sometimes over 100 pounds
Wearing steel or composite toe shoes or boots during work hours are a requirement of this position
